Rani completed BA and MA degrees in Graphic Design at Birmingham which led to a career in publishing taking her from London to The Cotswolds working in the education sector of the publishing market.

She has always enjoyed working with her hands and after working with a local sculptor she found creating 3 dimensional shapes from rough hewn rock was more satisfying for her creative output. ‘Working with stone is so absorbing to the point it’s almost meditative.’ The shapes and shadows that the stone reveals are what engages Rani as well as the textures and colours of the rock.  She enjoys working with different types of stone as each brings various challenges.

Rani’s graphic design work has steered her towards printing and mixed media work. Producing work on her etching press as well as collage and painting. Bright colours and stylised imagery are the theme.
